Oh the Places You'll Go, Joshua!

How has it happened that the summer is over and the first day of school has already come and gone?!  The summer went way too fast.  Way, way, way too fast.  Our little guy was really getting the jitters as the first day got closer.  And his mommy was sick to her stomach thinking about losing him for seven hours each day, five days a week.

But the day came.  And went.  And he survived.  We were blessed to find out that Joshua was place in a "bubble" class which was a class that was added because the enrollment was so high this year.  So his first year of school he will only have TEN kids in his class!  Awesome, huh?!  It made me a bit nervous because his teacher is new to the field, but once I met her I knew our prayers had been answered.  She is perfect for Joshua.

He walked into his room so grown up!  He handed his teacher flowers that he wanted to get her.  Found his spot and was ready to get started.  And I think get rid of me!  It was adorable.  Of course the second I left the room I lost it.  So glad Art was there.  It amazed me that there was a big crowd of our couple friends outside the room and not ONE was crying!!  Maybe I'm a sap...well, I'm sure I am, but anyway!

We are currently about two months into the school year and he LOVES school.  He loves learning.  He loves his teacher.  He loves recess and says it is his favorite subject (typical of any little boy his age) and the best part about it is they have swings! His favorite color is orange.  He LOVES math.  He has lots of best buddies.  Although he struggles occasionally with his behavior and learning to adjust to all personalities of kids:), he really is doing awesome.

And we, as his parents, are so proud of his heart and how much he is learning.  I know I am biased since  I taught kindergarten, but it truly is the best grade because they come in knowing NOTHING and every few weeks you see growth.  It is beautiful and is the reason you go into teaching...to see growth!  And as parents, it is one of the best things in the world hearing your child read to you:!  Oh yeah, and telling you they love school:).

A successful first day! Oh the places you'll go Joshua!  We can't wait to see what adventures your learning career will hold for you!

XOXO,
Daddy and Mommy
