Disney: Off to Neverland and a WHOLE LOTTA Princesses

We have been DYING to take a Disney Trip.  I mean, I think most parents do and if you don't then I seriously question how well we might get along!  Art had to work a conference in Orlando the same weekend that Joshua had a few days off so it just made sense of course!  But we decided that the kids would be WAY too excited to sleep if we told them we were going, hence it was a surprise!  Art and I were SOOOOO excited to break the news!  I managed to pack in the guest bedroom so they had no idea since they never go in there.  When Joshua got out of school one day, we told them we had a surprise for them.  We had them sit on the fireplace with some Disney bags.  They had some items to play with on the plane, water bottles for the park,  a couple things to wear at the park, little things like that and we had planned to take a picture as we told them.  We didn't prepare ourselves for the fact that maybe our plan was TOO complicated and they wouldn't get it:).  See the video below.  But once it clicked and Joshua saw the suitcases packed, it all sunk in and the fun could begin!  I think Joshua's actual response was, " Are you serious?"

Ready to catch the plane!  Joshua's comment of the day, "I am so excited I am weak!"  Me too buddy!

We were able to get our time share at short notice and it was a beautiful property located minutes away from the parks...PERFECT!!  When we got there we just unpacked and went to bed so we could be ready for the next morning of fun....AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM!!!!  The pics below are obviously not in order, but that's ok!

Waiting in line for our first ride, The Pirates of the Caribbean!

Ready for the Electrical Light Parade!  Love his excitement!

Okay so I have no memory of watching the Disney fireworks as a kid and let me just say, WOW!  The music, the lighting, I've never seen so many fireworks!  AND Tinkerbell flew in, like a real live Tinkerbell, flew from the top of the castle to the the ground to kick it all off!  Cliche to say it was magical, but hey, there was no other way to describe it!!

Sadie got to meet her favorite Disney princess at the time, Ariel.  I think Ariel was struggling a bit because she wasn't the most pleasant to work and had quite the raspy smoker's voice unfortunately which was a bummer for Sadie.  Art thought maybe it was because we said she was Sadie's favorite princess although she was wearing a Belle gown....

Joshua loved riding the monorail around

Flexing their manliness with Gaston

Waiting in line for Belle!!  Sadie had lost her cool by this point and I think this may be the most fake smile picture we got on the trip since Joshua had just been yelled at and Sadie had been crying...

But it was all worth the wait!!  Sadie was picked to play CHIP in the performance of Beauty and the Beast.  She was in bliss!  It was sooooo cute!

When it was time to take pictures with Belle she wouldn't get off her lap to let the next person go...it was so sweet and I think Belle might have been enjoying it as much as Sadie was!

These rock stars got to experience their first 3D show.  Joshua loved it.  Sadie was scared and then fell asleep:).

The boys wanted to do what boys do and they headed over to Adventureland to ride the big kid rides.   Splash Mountain was one of Joshua's favorites!!  He could have road it all day long with his Dad and been more than okay!  The girls headed to the princess area to check out some more princesses since this was the goal of Sadie's trip.  To see princess.  Not ride the rides.  Unfortunately, Disney rigs it so that after waiting in line for almost 2 hours, yep, two hours with a 2 year old, you only get to see 2 princesses.  Sigh.  Sadie picked seeing Rapunzel, who happened to have Snow White as a tag along, over Cinderella and Aurora.  We snapped pictures and then after getting one with Rapunzel they went to usher her off and she started sobbing, "We didn't even get to play!"  Think meeting Belle first set a pretty high expectation!  It was so sad, but sweet!

It was a great first day!!  We were amazed at everything we managed to knock out!!
