The Blue Egg Incident....

DALLAS!!! Since we had decided to forgo trips with our ever so agreeable, traveling daughter for some time, we missed making it down to Dallas for Thanksgiving this year. To make up for lost time though, the Milnes' clan was able to get together for the Easter holiday! It was a quick trip, unfortunately, due to Art's crazy work schedule, but still so much fun seeing some of our favorite people. Grandma and Grandpa's house is always so relaxing and we love that the weather is always conducive to playing outside!

So a good Joshua story. We went to church and the kids went to their age appropriate classrooms. Little guy got SPOILED in his room with gifts and an Easter egg hunt! Well, he was so excited to see us he stepped away from his basket to tell us about the fun when we came to pick him up. In that short time, somehow a DARK BLUE egg went missing from the basket. Well, if you have a four year old, you know that favorite colors are a big thing. And that dark blue egg was a big deal. He tried accusing several children of stealing, which showed he was really in the Easter spirit.

Not one to let things go, we had to listen to the injustice for about the next forty five minutes. Finally, trying to sidetrack him, Art said, "You know, you looked really sharp in your blue sports jacket today! Did any other boys wear sports jackets in your class today?" "Dad, no. No one else wore sports jackets today. AND I WAS OKAY WITH THAT. But you know what I wasn't OKAY WITH? SOMEONE TAKING MY BLUE EGG!!" Neither of us could control our giggles to which he then said, "This is not a funny part of a story, this is a sad part!!!"

Oh Joshua. He also proudly announced to the crowd of about 15 guests at Grandpa and Grandma's after our group prayer blessing the food, "Jesus has risen from the dead!" It got a good chuckle from the crowd. He puts on a halo every so often.:)

HAPPY, HAPPY EASTER!

So they are having fun....right???
Getting measured for tuxes....Kimmy and Sam's wedding in May will be here before we know it!!
Hee hee!
The boys....
Our handsome boy
Sadie LOVED seeing Grandpa and Grandma. But a very close second was their back door with a netting. She could have, or did, spend hours just going up and down the little step and passing through the fun netting. She was very proud of herself.
Easter baskets from Grandma and Grandpa!!
Decorating Easter eggs
A lovely Easter breakfast at the hotel of yummy eggs and Grandma's banana bread:)
Okay. Seriously. How could you not love these two little faces!? AND I love them all the more because this is one of the few pictures I have that they are both smiling for me!!! YEA!!
Milnes clan at church Easter morning
Miss Thing loved her Easter basket just as much as what was inside of it!
Egg Hunt!!
Basket #1 being inspected...she is my daughter going for the chocolate first:)
Basket #2 found! By a vacuum....sweet!
Cousins!! Poor Hayden had just woken up from a nap so I think he may not have been in the best spirits to have cameras flashing at him....he's still pretty stinking cute!
Our flight was having trouble getting out of town and kept getting delayed so we made an executive decision to drive home as opposed to camping out at the airport into the wee hours of the night. Scary, yes, with no real car traveling fun gear for an 8 hour trip. Really could have been quite the disaster. But let me tell you, the kids rocked it! They were so good and we were so proud of them!
Check out this crazy picture right around the Oklahoma border...scary! Just a smoke stack or two though:).
Fortunately for us, they both passed out in the car for a two hour nap up front. Followed by lots of old school car games and family sing-a-longs before a dinner break and night driving.
