Mayhem at the Milnes': FALL-ing into Preschool

Can you believe Joshua has already headed off to preschool??? Oh my goodness!! Where is time going?! I hate losing my Tuesday/Thursday mornings with him (Shoot! No more watching the trash and recycling trucks come on Tuesday mornings:(....yes, I did cry over this!) However, we feel so blessed that he is in the best hands this year! He started at my former alma mater (yes, a bit lame!) last week. I ADORE his new teacher. Can't sing her praises enough! Mrs. Young is sweet, insightful, and has already figured out many of our little guys quirks and OCD/sensory issues which Art and I are amazed that she has been able to pick up on such subtle things so quickly. Most importantly, Joshua just loves her. And what parent doesn't love to hear these words that I was told the other day as we got into the car,

"I love learning, Mom! And I love school! And I really, really like Mrs. Young!"

We really struggled with where to send him. We heard good things about several places around us, but when we checked it out, it just didn't seem like a good fit for Joshua. I had heard fabulous things about Holy Spirit's program, but it's a twenty minute drive (not including morning traffic). In the end, we felt that starting his school experience off positively was the most important thing and it trumped wasted car time. And every time I hear the little guy say how much he loves school and his teacher I feel like any amount of time is worth that!!

The morning of drop off, he barely said goodbye to Art, Sadie, or me (with a train table in his room who needs Mom and Dad?). And I barely held it together, saving my tears for home as I wrote in his little journal. Excuse me, it was more like sobs. Lame again, but I just love this little guy so much!
