Outside Action and the BIG Concert!!

What could be better than playing in the water on hot summer day when you are two? Joshua is crazy about going outside. He would do it all day if Mommy could stand the heat. Sorry kiddo, I am an A/C girl during July! We manage to have our fair share of fun though. Here's some recent pictures of him helping Papa water his front yard flowers. Please pardon the diaper. We do have swim trunks...and swim diapers..., but we don't readily keep them in the car! Lesson learned!

This picture cracked me up. One cool dude. He was ready to pass out after running some errands with Mr. Mouse, his new companion of the week, but refused to take off his shades.

On another note, Mommy got to complete one of her dreams this last weekend! I am a crazy music fan! I love, love, love music and my heart is with classic rock since I was a little girl. I've been privileged to have married someone who lets me indulge in my love, and enjoys it himself too. My "bucket list" of concerts has almost been completed and I can say that my top three, Art has been able to accompany me to...Eric Clapton, Elton John, and as of Saturday night, a living Beatle, Paul McCartney! I was in rock 'n' roll heaven! We laughed as we left that you can tell when you have seen a music legend in concert not only because they sound exactly like the recordings, but you don't leave thinking, "Man, that was really good, but I wish they would have played.....". In the twelve minutes shy of three hours that he performed, he managed to sing over 35 classic songs, play six instruments, and even had a tribute to Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, and George Harrison. Simply amazing stamina for someone who is 68! I loved hearing him sprinkle in stories of how certain songs came to be or his relationships with a variety of people. Unforgettable night! Thank you Sir Paul!
With my cute date at the Sprint Center:)
Welcome to Kansas City!!!

"Something" was dedicated to George Harrison. This was my favorite from the night! The ukulele was a gift from Harrison. McCartney said that shortly after receiving it, he went over to Harrison's place and bragged that he finally had learned to play one of Harrison's songs on it, then broke out with "Something". The beginning of this little ditty is whimsical, but the ending gave me goosebumps. What a great tribute to an old friend! Wish our camera could record over three minutes!!
