Art rented an big SUV to help give us some room and that may have been one of Joshua's highlights. He loved the "white car" and struggled with going to bed when we left town at 8 pm Wednesday night because he was so excited. That and of course he knew he was going to see Grandma Katy the next day:). We told him that he would not see her until after he went night-night. We should have been more specific because he was finally silent for about 3 minutes in the backseat at about 10 pm and we assumed our plan had worked. Then a very cheery voice came from the backseat, "All done sleeping! See Grandma Katy now?" It was pretty cute!
We had so much fun though over the course of several days. Art loved showing Sumner to his little boy. Joshua loved hanging out at Grandma Jane's. He thought the parking lot next to the house was a perfect place for him to play motorcycle with his stroller until he crashed his vehicle and needed some first aid:). In Minnesota, he loved riding on Mike and Krista's boat (it had an alarm....a current favorite obsession to this two year old!) and playing in their backyard. He loved it so much that you would think we never let him outside in Kansas City! I think his side-kick Riley helped make the experience more fun:). All good things must come to an end though. We hated to say good-bye but can't wait to see our friends again!
