Planes, Trains, and Grandpa and Grandma

Wow! What a great weekend we had! We went to Dallas to visit Grandpa Cal and Grandma Katy. Joshua was so excited to see them! Here's some highlights:

  • Joshua got to be like Daddy and ride on an airlplane. He was beaming the whole time at the airport and did an awesome job on the ride there and back. I think we are finally getting the traveling with a kid thing down since TSA complemented us by saying they have never seen such an organized family come through the airport:). Go Team Milnes'!

  • Playing in Grandpa and Grandma's backyard: They have a hammock AND a bird feeder. Pretty cool! Joshua loved the dual purpose of swinging in the hammock and finding shade under it like below:).

  • Joshua made a new best buddy in Kimmy, Grandpa and Grandma's friend. She is pretty special:).
  • He remembered right away that G & G had the coolest bathtub to play Santa aka "Ho, Ho, Ho" at bathtime!
  • Taking a walk and snack break downtown after a train ride. Awesome idea on a Saturday, Grandma! We rode the DART- Dallas' tram system- into the city. Grandpa had to go to a funeral in Colorado Springs and Daddy had to work so we got to steal Grandma for the day. The train was super fun and then we had Chick-fil-a for lunch...can't top that!
  • Story time with Grandma

  • Taking a big boy shower for the first time...G & G have a "window shower" so Joshua loved showing off for us. He loves to sing in the shower...how early that starts!
  • Grandma Katy has a purple vacuum. Yes, a purple vacuum! Not too loud, just right....those are Joshua's words!
  • We also got to go swimming in their pool. Joshua used "swimmies" for the first time and showed his fish skills even to a greater extent! Kind of cute story... while playing on the stairs at the pool, some little kids came over and were showing off their swimming skills. One of them commented that he didn't need swimmies anymore because he could swim now. Joshua looked at him and just said, "learning". As in, I'm learning to swim, isn't that great! We all thought it was pretty cute.
  • Church with Grandma- Joshua walked right into his classroom like a big boy. He was looking forward to making some new friends and learning about the Creation story.
  • We got to introduce Grandma to Pacuigo after church....Mmmmm! Love it!
  • He also loved chasing the silly red light in Grandpa and Grandma's living room...see the video:)
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for letting us visit! Miss you and love you more!!
