Strawberry Picking!

This summer we decided to make a Bucket List of fun things to do.  We kind of did this last year, but I was not very good at keeping up with it, not to mention being very creative with it!  When the kids decided to add strawberry picking this year, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical.  Last year we went blueberry picking and it was fun for about five minutes.  But then Joshua realized that it takes a lot of blueberries to fill a bucket and all Sadie wanted to do was be held so it was not a very productive day.  Not to mention when we got home, my homemade blueberry muffins were not appreciated (although I thought they were delish!) AND we found a small dead spider on a blueberry.  So the kids were done. I have to admit it was a bit of a turn off to me too!

When we arrived for strawberry picking I had very low expectations, but I'm not sure if it was the year of maturity or if it was truly that much better of a time, but we had soooooo much fun!  It will forever be on the Milnes Family Bucket List now!!

After a successful trip, we celebrated with a Slurpee from the gas station, something I have NEVER done with them.  Joshua was very chatty with clerks (possibly from all of the sugar and artificial colors) and they started discussing trains due to a crossing that was close. One of the men working told him he was a retired train engineer, which sent our little guy spinning.  The man asked him if he would want to be a train engineer when he grew up.  Joshua's response made the other guy spit out his bite of sandwich.   He seriously replied, "Yay, I am going to be an engineer conductor AND a doctor."

Miss Thing on the other hand looked spent, as you can see, but she was still sporting her white sunglasses, just like Grandma Katy:).
