A Cerner Escape

Over Memorial Day weekend, Art and I were able (thanks to some helpful sitters, Papa and Mimi) to sneak away for a wedding of one of the girls on Art's team at Cerner.  At first we didn't really consider going, but as the stress of moving set in, a much needed vacation sounded pretty sweet.  We were joined by Art's boss and his wife and they were super fun:)!  We were able to bond over our love of K-State!

Tapas and sangria one evening (always a good choice) and then the following day it was off to Epcot to share in the "Drink Around the World- World Showcase Drinking Tour.   Yes, you would assume correctly when you are supposed to have a drink in every country...to get the feel of that country, of course.  Well, I'm not a big drinker thanks to poor decisions in my past:), but the rest of crew was more than willing to participate.  What a ride!  Mexico started us off and we wrapped up in Canada.  I think we could all say that Japan could easily be skipped next time (sake....yeah, not even the top drinkers in our group stomached that too well), and Germany, Italy, and France made us want to reapply for our passports:).  It was unfortunate that we did not get to meet most of the Disney characters, included the Mouse himself, until the tour was done.  Not looking or feeling our best.  Art was asked by Alice (as in Wonderland), "Kindly would you please put down your spirits, sir?"

The wedding was at the resort we stayed at and wow, was it beautiful!!  Backed up to palm trees and the golf course.  And the reception was gorgeous as well.  And anyone that knows Art and I, we love an excuse to get out on the dance floor and this was a super fun, University of Florida crowd that gladly welcomed the random Midwesterners:).  Good times!

The kids loved their souvenirs when we got back!

And my love for Italy was only deepened when the sweet little group of lady performers said they could play the Superman Theme for my little Superman.  He still watches it....ALL. THE. TIME.  If only they knew how they made the little guys day!
