Labor Day this year was a whirlwind tour to see family in Iowa. It's always fun to get up there to share with the kiddos where Daddy grew up. We started in Sumner, where Art lived from 5th grade on, and where Great Grandma Jane still lives. We were lucky enough to have a well attended family reunion with all of Grandpa Cal's siblings, their kids, and even the great grand kids. Sadie and Joshua LOVED having buddies their age to hang out with and we LOVED watching their little friendships form. We enjoyed a ceremony in honor of Grandpa John's service to the community. Our time in Sumner made me realize more and more how much Joshua is a little Art...and I love it!

Grandma Jane has a church parking lot right next door! This four year was in bliss to be able to pick up some speed!
Cousin Hayden tried kept trying to get Sadie to "give knuckles", but she did not seem to ever pick up on it much to his disappointment.
Sadie with Cousin Preslee (think they are 3 months apart). Seriously, there is way too much cuteness in this picture!
Aunt Krista's mom, Dar, came over and shared the baby squirrel she is nursing back to health. The kids LOVED it! Hayden showed everyone how to feed it a bottle.

Off to De Witt to see Great Grandma Arlene!! Sunday we drove to the farm to visit Grandma Arlene. She spoiled the kids with treats and they loved playing on the farm for a couple of hours. The first words out of Joshua's mouth when we got there was, "How's your corn doing this year?" Gotta love him. We even got to visit Great Aunt Karen and Great Uncle Tom for a bit which was a treat too. Makes us always wish we lived closer when we visit!

One of my highlights from the trip was seeing Sadie play with Harper and Preslee. They were so cute!! Most of the other kids we play with are boys so it was hilarious to see Sadie doing what girls do...practice some screaming!
