The year count down has officially begun. One year until we do the kindergarten drop off for Yaya (as his sister first coined him). I have already shed a ridiculous amount of tears just thinking about it. But let's focus on the positive! Preschool has started back up!
The day before school started, Mimi asked Joshua if he was excited for school to start. His response, spoken with much passion, "Nope. Not really!" Yes, he's still not a fan of "going" although he likes "attending".
Then the big morning came, I woke early to not only get myself ready and two kiddos ready, but I wanted to make him one of his favorite breakfasts, chocolate chip pumpkin muffins. Mmmm. Our little guy is not always a "wake up and go" kid so I thought the sweet smell of baked goods might entice him. Nope. It took half an hour to get him out of bed and when I tried to entice him with the sweet smells of baked goods he just told me that he now thinks pumpkin muffins are gross because they have chocolate chips in them....excuse me? He eventually through off the covers thought and got rolling. AND ate a few muffins:).

Joshua is such a funny little guy. You can always tell when he is nervous because he talks a mile a minute before the event he is dreading, but once in the situation, he is super shy. On the way there, he could not stop talking. Once there he would barely make eye contact but somehow I managed to get one of the best smiles on camera I have gotten in ages from him! Yea!
Lianna and Joshua have been buddies since they were babies in playgroup together. This pic will be so fun to show them years from now!
Drop off is almost complete know that we have a family pic! One with Joshua's arm around his sister's neck like usual.
So pick up. I had such good intentions of welcoming my sweet boy after school, and I guess you could say I still managed to welcome him and make the first day of preschool memorable for him.....and every other person present. You see, I managed to accidentally lock Sadie in the car. On this nice warm afternoon. Right before the kids came out. Thought AAA would take too long to get there on the warm day so with the support of my mom friends, I called 911. Sweet.
Just as the kids came walking around the corner, emergency crews pulled up with sirens, lights and all to rescue the trapped child. The kids first day of school pick up was overshadowed by my mommy brain. After what seemed liked ages, Sadie was rescued and all could move on their way now that the excitement was over. Miss Thing did not cry once and although she was rather hot, she was in good spirits.

He chose to celebrate his special day with Don Chilitos' sopapillas. Think he can kill a basket of these by himself easily.
