KC has had some super family festivals the last two weekends so of course we joined! Powell Gardens had the Annual Butterfly Festival which we had never been too and it was so neat! Joshua loved getting up close to hold the butterflies. Sadie, however, does not like surprises. And regardless of how pretty a bug might be, it is still an unpredictable bug, and she did not care for them. Powell Gardens was worth the drive and the weather was a random high in the 80s...much needed after our scorching summer!!
Okay, he HATES to have his picture taken and so his smiles are never sincere. It's gotten to be kind of a funny thing to see what he come sup with and this one did not disappoint.
Our next festival was the Midwest Balloon Festival. It is awesome if you have never been! We went a couple of years ago when it was in a field in the middle of no where. Missed it last year since we were out of town, but Joshua would ask when it was coming again since it was such a vivid memory. Well, this year we lucked out and it was MINUTES from our house. Could even see them from our backyard! Every kids dream! Mimi and Aunt Lin joined us for the balloon "glow" where they inflate and light them up at night. The next morning we threw on some clothes and headed to see the races/contests and it did not disappoint either! We were able to chase them as they traveled and even got to see them through the sun roof, landing, and take off again! Of course we followed up the fun with donuts at the park on a beautiful morning!

Silly family pic. Think this may be the first time that Joshua took the best picture compared to the group!
Love me some Belle snuggle time! And she loves Mimi's water bottles with tea...caffeine free of course:)
The story with the belt. She wants to do EVERYTHING I do. I threw on a skinny belt with jeans and she ran to the closet, picked one out and insisted on wearing it. Of course it wrapped around her body a couple of times, but she was happy. Maybe not in this pic, but happy!
