Ooh La La.... A Party via Pinterest

So it would be a drastic understatement to express my love of Pinterest. Oh my goodness. Life changing I tell you! New yummy recipes, fun crafts for the kiddies, fashion tips, so much, and PARTY IDEAS!

Sadie's nursery is in gray, black, white, and pink with a Paris theme so when I saw a Paris themed party on Pinterest I was hooked. I mean, hey, I already had most of the decorations that were looking for another use! Took some ideas from here and there on the site, added in my teacher crafty side that I rarely get to put to use and tah-dah!! An Afternoon in Paris was born! Yes, many say I have way too much time on my hands to put this much work into a first birthday, but I say first birthdays are a big deal and I thought this idea was too cute to pass up. And I really miss having time to be crafty so now I had an excuse:).

Unfortunately, when the big day rolled around, guess who ended up in the ER with a 104 degree fever and respiratory infection at 11:00 pm the night before??? Party was canceled and rescheduled for two weeks later...sad face:(. BUT... The new date was a beautiful day so we played a lot outside and a while inside, the kids traveled to different stops in Paris to grab some souvenirs. Sadie sported an adorable little Paris themed dress and one of her first birthday gifts was a set of matching necklaces (one for her, one for Mommy) with "Je t'aime" (French for I love you). Thought that was a cute little keepsake:). Perfect day with perfect friends and family! It turned out tres magnifique!

All set and ready to go!

The Tour de France was quite busy
Perfect day to run off some energy!

Pin the Puff on the Poodle time! This was a great test in honesty since we did not blindfold them! Pretty funny.

Stopping for a tourist pic by the Eiffel Tower...with boas, top hats and moustaches of course!

Cooper didn't want to break with the French theme during cupcake time:).
Daddy and his best girl.
Look how sweet and festive Avery looks!
Joshua got a "Good Big Brother" gift, which was more meant to keep him distracted from opening his sister's gifts. It worked pretty well. A Frisbee and a yo yo that I picked up at the gym that morning from a Commerce Bank booth...ha! Love free things!

Paca and Clare helped with some gifts.

It's my party and I'll cry if I want too. Cake came way too late for this pooped party girl.
But her mood improved when she realized what was going. She was pretty gentle so no good messy pics. Hopefully she maintains this side of cleanliness!
