The Zoo and Our Houdini

Last year we began a tradition with some of our favorite people. The Omaha Zoo is known as one of the greatest zoos here in America and if you have never been able to go, it is a must! We decided to make it a yearly happening with Eric, Nealy, Emmitt, and Malloy. Eric and Art have been best friends since college and we have been so blessed that I count Nealy as one of close friends too. And now! Our boys are just six weeks apart and our girls a little less than a year! So much fun! Their friends also joined for the festivities which only added to the fun. It is always sad when the weekend ends because we have so much fun. Not to mention Joshua goes through a little Emmitt withdrawal. :)
At Burger King for the breakfast of champions before heading out

The crew before the big day!

Hmmm. Family pics. Some day we will have one where we all four people are looking AND smiling. But not now, no not these days.

Snakes! Art was such a trooper this year and checked them out. Yea!

Joshua really liked the gorillas. Sadie ADORED the gorillas! She would twist and turn until they were within her view.

Took this right after the gorilla put on a full gorilla kind of show, banging his chest with lots of noise. Super cool!

Taking a break in the strollers. Doesn't he look pleased?

Not sure who enjoyed the Big Cats Exhibit more, adults or kids??

My sweethearts:)

Oh my goodness they have a train!!

See her, hanging out on the bed? Practicing hanging out in bed, while not sleeping of course...

Love close ups of this little face:)

Dinner time!
Low point point of the trip, Sadie is not a fan of sleeping on the road. She did not like the pack and play. She refuses to sleep with Art and she feels the need to nurse about every hour on the hour when she sleeps with me.....And I'm not joking. Nor am I pleased with the situation.

However, this low point brings me to my high point! So Sunday morning, Sadie greeted me at 6 bells, after waking up SEVEN times during the night. Augh. I fed her, but she would not go back to sleep so I thought I would put my back to her and maybe the lack of attention would send her into a sweet bliss. I admit, about fifteen minutes rolled by and she continued to roll around and play. I finally decided to toss in the towel. She had beat me. I roll back over to a NAKED baby! She had stripped herself of her jammies (button up fuzzy footed sleeper) and was just chilling. As they say, I was not even mad, quite amazed in fact. I laughed so hard! How she did it, I have NO IDEA! Nor do I care. I just decided to adore this sweet girl, because some day I will kill to have her wake me up all night long. And who wouldn't welcome a good laugh bright and early in the morning!
