Sadie's Baptism

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart.
- Jeremiah 1:5

Sadie Makena was Baptized on May 22 and it was just a beautiful ceremony! The scripture readings from Mass that morning were so fitting and Deacon Jim Lavin celebrated the Baptism as his first Christening. It went wonderfully although baby girl did not like getting her head wet (much to our surprise since she LOVES bathtime!). We kept this event much smaller than Joshua's day which was really nice. Joshua had a huge celebration, which really seems to fit his personality now, and we just felt like we didn't get to enjoy what was really going on that day. So with Miss Sadie Belle, we kept it more low key (which fits her personality too...she is at her best with a small crowd) and only invited Art and my families as well as great grandparents that lived in town. We were so sad that Art's family was not able to make it in, but there were certainly there in spirit and prayers. Her Godparents, my brother, Steven, and his wife, Lyndsey, did a wonderful job...and will continue to do so down the road we know:). It was also really sweet because Sadie was able to wear my baptismal gown. We were a little nervous to see if it would fit her since she was 3 months and I wore it when I was just a couple weeks, but it worked out great! She looked perfect:). Congratulations Sadie!
(Know there are lots of pictures this time around!)

After our Church celebration, we headed out for a nice brunch at the Bristol. It was our first time there for the much talked about KC Sunday Brunch and oh my goodness was it good!! If you ever have the chance to check it out, it's well worth it:). As you can tell, the guest of honor thoroughly enjoyed herself!
