We have had so much fun during this last weekend! We started on Thursday night, May 5, celebrating two of our favorite people, my grandparents, Gene and Clare Thorne. They renewed their wedding vows with family at Holy Spirit on their 60th anniversary. It was a BEAUTIFUL night filled with love and lots of happiness. A dinner celebration was held afterwards at Garozzo's. We are so, so blessed with these two special people! Cheers to you Paca and Clare!
Friday we had fun at Stonewall Inn, yummy pizza and perfect weather to sit outside! Although it was a two hour wait...geez!!....we loved just being able to slow down as a family and "be" as we like to say in the Milnes house. This seems like a rarity in our lives! Saturday evening we were enjoying another fabulous evening of weather when we spotted a hot air balloon close by. Within a few minutes, we were in the car chasing it to see it land! So fun! It found it's spot behind Target. Joshua is crazy about hot air balloons and it was so sweet to see his little face and the excitement he felt. The family who owned it was so sweet too. They let him get in the basket, helped him blow some of his own helium, and even pet the balloon. What a great memory!
And Mother's Day...I think I like this day even more than my own birthday. It's always on the weekend and we just have so much fun! We shared some Dean and Deluca in Dad and Mom's beautiful backyard with mimosas, took a family nap, got to read the paper alone, and celebrated that evening with my favorite tradition of sushi and strawberry pie for dinner and more outside fun. Yum!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my family and am so happy that I get to be mom to these two little people. And I'm so lucky to have so many wonderful moms around me, my own mother, mother in law, grandmothers and friends!
