It's Like Herding Cats....

As a kindergarten teacher, you are required to do many things that take A LOT of patience. Patience that you happily provide out of love, although there may be times you are screaming in your head. One of my favorites is setting routines at the beginning of the year. Most K teachers wonder why they signed back up for another school year the first month of school when we catch ourselves saying such things as, "No, glue stays on your paper, sweetie. It's not for your hands." or "You need to walk facing forward, not backwards while adding an occasional spin, please." One of those task that requires the utmost patience is teaching five year olds to line up. I liked to refer to it as "Herding Cats".
When I left teaching to stay home, I did not think I would be making that comment. However, anyone who has tried to take a picture involving toddlers knows the feeling. Yes, it's like herding cats. The KC Crew gathered at the Peters' house this week to give thanks for our amazing group of friends and celebrate the Philips 2nd set of twins that are on the way! Yea!!! Such a blessing! We paused during the evening to herd the little beasties for a group photo. See the chaos and fun below. All kiddos are present but Ashton. Next time around we will try to get the whole group!
We also celebrated Joshua's Great Grandpa Bill's 81st birthday this weekend. It was so good to see everyone and celebrate Grandpa's milestone. Most of the Kilgore family made it so it was nice to catch up since we rarely get to see everyone. I think Joshua thinks his second cousin, Patrick is a pretty cool kid as you can see in the video below:). In the picture with the birthday honoree is Lyndsey, Joshua's future aunt, and Chloe, his third cousin (my cousin Kelly and her husband Mike's daughter).
In a last note, still happy to show his Purple Pride, here's a pic of Joshua sporting his old school Willie shirt, or should I say MY old school Willie shirt. Yes, this was mine when I was a youngin', but I think I was closer to age 3 or 4 when I wore it. Yes, he is a tall one! Love the Cats and so proud of our boys for a great season!
Happy Turkey Day, Friends!!!
