Congratulations to Art and Leslie Milnes who joined the Official Parents Club this weekend with vomit and trips to the ER! Yea?! I think.... We were so excited to head up to Iowa this last weekend to celebrate Mike and Krista's wedding reception. G and G Kilgore piled in the rented van to travel to Waterloo (BTW- never thought I would say this but we CAN'T wait to get a van! Soccer Moms here we come!). A short stop was made for dinner half way there. Joshua shoveled in a variety of foods, mostly, every kids' fav...mac and cheese. "Hahaha!"...we laughed...isn't it cute how much he is eating? Fast forward several hours to Art quietly coming into our hotel room..."Les, I need some help." Imagine for a moment, my loving husband and child with macaroni and cheese adorning every inch of the front of their bodies and four perfect piles, yes four, in the hall. How could something that little have that much in them?!
Passed out on Grandpa Charley Saturday...in one of Grandpa's shirts cause he had thrown up on everything else we brought! :(

Keeping an eye on his buddy Masey...she's so cool!

Onward to our toughest night of parenting yet. Joshua continued to throw up which then lead into dry heaves. Only a parent can understand such a feeling of helplessness. To watch your baby so sick that they can not even hold their head up just rips your heart out to say the least. At midnight, I could not take it any more so we headed to the ER where he had blood work, a catheter, and X-ray. He didn't even flinch for the first two which killed us all the more. Did cry for the X-ray but only cause Mommy was not holding him. By about 2 am he had stopped throwing up and had some Pedialyte. Totally different child (see video...wow.).
Our next day was okay, not the happy go lucky kid, but much better. Just as we were getting ready to head to the reception, it started again. God is good though and we realized that my parents had come with us for a reason. They stayed with the little man, while Art and I headed to the reception for a bit. A trip to Target's clearance rack was made by Grandpa K so that Joshua would have comfy clothes...he had already thrown up on everything else:(. It was super cute to see the outfit Grandpa picked out. Art walked in and said, "Wow, it's a little Charley...sweats and a t-shirt!" Room 514 got little sleep that night due to a fever. We were sooooo happy to travel home. He's doing better now that the week is almost over, and it looks like we are on our way to recover. He is such a trooper. And I have to give major props to my parents and husband too. What a great team! Thanks guys!
First trip to the ER....feeling so much better!!

On a happier note, made it to his 9 month appointment (a month late!). He was 22 lb. (60th percentile) and 30 in. (90th percentile). We have a tall one on our hands! AND we want to welcome the newest Kilgore Family member...Mom's cousin Kelly and her husband Mike have a BEAUTIFUL baby girl as of earlier this week. Chloe Patricia Lewis joined our world five weeks early but all are doing well. Her Mommy looks like a Rock Star in pictures regardless of the surprise early visit. We can't wait to meet her when we all feel better!
