School has been going so well this year! We adore Joshua's teacher and he has exceeded our expectations in what he is learning and behavior. Yay, Joshua! They have a color behavior system that has 7 tiers of behavior for the day. Red being you get a call home...the worst! And pink is the highest and hard to achieve. Being that Joshua is one that can struggle with behavior, we decided to really encourage this good behavior and told him whenever he hits pink he gets to pick some kind of reward.
After getting pink one day, he decided he wanted to visit Jose Peppers with anyone that wanted to come celebrate with us. And I said, Mexican food and not having to cook dinner??? Sure! Aunt Linda, Mimi, Paca, and Grandma Clare were in! So proud of his hard work!
Sadie enjoyed learning to work the iPhone camera at dinner and wanted to share some of her first pictures:).

Top favorite reward system stories of the kindergarten thus far???
- While explaining he made it to pink one day, but actually had to "clip" down- "I made it to pink today! But then I had to clip down because I kept talking about how I was on pink."
- The start of the year was a struggle to get into rules and a schedule. One day he came home and shared to following story which made me crack up because this technique I use to use in my class and never thought what it may actually make kids do.
Me- Oh? Why?
J- I kept messing around with it and so she took it away.
Me- Well that was a good choice. Your teacher should have taken it away since you weren't paying attention.
J- Well it didn't make me pay attention. It only made me think about how much I wanted my pencil box back!
