One of our friends put together an All Saints Day Parade at one of the local nursing homes and it turned out soooooo cute! Being that it was right after the craziness of Halloween and us getting back to town, our costumes were thrown together very quickly, but they worked!
Joshua chose to be St. Henry, the Emperor of Bavaria that lived in the 900's. He was very successful in his military career, but also lived a life of humility and justice towards others. He is the patron saint of the childless, those rejected by religious orders, and the handicapped.
And Sadie was one of my favorite saints, St. Gianna is more of a modern day saint. She lived in Italy from the 1940's to the 60's and was a pediatrician. A short ways into her fourth pregnancy, doctors discovered a cancerous growth. She refused a hysterectomy and abortion in order to preserve her little one's life. On Good Friday, she delivered a healthy baby girl, only to pass away herself seven days later. She is the patron saint of mothers, the unborn, and doctors.
