It won't be the first, or the last time, that I am called crazy. And I'm cool with that. A week before we move into our new house (THAT'S RIGHT! WE HAVE A HOUSE!!) we, or should I say, Joshua and I, decided to host 20 of his closest buddies with a Superhero birthday party! So being that I am always looking for something to do:), and I LOVE planning parties, so off to Pinterest and the Internet Joshua and I went. He is obsessed with Superman so it was easy to narrow things down. We both carefully selected fun ideas and decorations that we wanted to include. It was so much fun planning together! And I'm so glad he didn't want to go have his party somewhere because it allowed us to save some money AND get my teacher fix of creativity!
After many prayers for good weather (because who wants to have that many kids inside their house at one time?!), the big day arrived and it could not have been more fun!!! Classmates, old friends, and family came to celebrate the special day with us!
The kids were put through a super hero training course before they could earn their super hero capes. All superheros have to be able to do the following:
- Jump over tall buildings
- Save citizens and animals
- Fight the bad guys
- Possess a super power
And that's how we set up the day!!
After the party, I said to Joshua, "Wow! Did we have fun or what?!"
His response, "Yeah, that was pretty fun. I mean, what a fiasco!"
Not sure where he got that one, but it was a good laugh none the less.

Welcome Superheroes to Metropolis!!!

Capes for the attendees
Cape decorating station
Superman cake
Capes are complete and drying!!
The weather could not have been better!
Waiting to hear about their Superhero training instructions\
Station 1: Walk a balance beam, hop over a building, and save a baby or puppy and bring it back to safety.
Station 2: Save a citizen obstacle course
Station 3: Get the bad guys hideout by sending rocks of kryptonite their way.
SWING BREAK!
Station 4: Test your super human strength and X-ray vision with a pinata
On a side note, Joshua's class has really taken Sadie under their arm and it is so cute. They are each so sweet with her and she really thinks she is just one of the group!
Love that the birthday boy was the first one to break it open! He was so excited that it worked out that way!
Waiting for their final instructions to complete their training course with a BIG obstacle course!
Think all of them loved riding the big wheel down the hill during the final event! And yes, we had people catching them a the end!
Cake Time!
Completely forgot to get a picture of the big group, but here's a shot of those that hung around for awhile.
So happy that the weather was beautiful, the kids all got along and cheered one another on, everyone had fun, and the birthday boy was in bliss!!
