On the Road Again! Pt. 1

We HAD plans to go back to California this year.  Then came Sadie.  As I've stated before, she does not sleep so well.  Or like to sit still for more than a minute.  So an extended plane ride was not in the cards for the Milnes this year and back out to Colorado we went!  The kids LOVED being in the mountains. It was so fun seeing them get so excited as the explored each new thing.  Although Miss Thing struggled at night, and nap time, she was in great spirits the entire time.  Part 1 of the trip was in Estes Park.....And please excuse how Art and I look more and more tired as the week continues:).  As we have said before, we need a vacation from a vacation with kids!

The Rainbow Slide is a Kilgore fav.  We went twice because it was so much fun.  Joshua loved racing down and believe it or not, Sadie squealed each time we went.  She had a whole crowd of people dying each time at the bottom with her cackles....our little dare devil!

As you can see, it is not so little...And this picture is not of the WHOLE slide.

ELK!!  There was a massive heard with about seven babies crossing the road about 1/2 mile outside of the park.

Dinner at Mama Rosa's by the stream.  The food is pretty good, but the stream, memories of going there since I was little, and La Crema Pinot Noir make it for us:)!

CHIPMUNK TIME at the top of the tram.  This little guy was obviously pretty friendly and hungry...

This may have been the highlight of his trip.  I've never seen him sit so still!

Sadie was not feeling the little rodents but found a new job quickly.  She was the official peanut-hander-outer.  And yes, that's the technical term.

The Milnes

She LOVES hugging her brother!  She does not always love being hugged by him.  Always on her terms.

Dinner at Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park.  Or as Joshua says Rocky Mountain NATURAL Park.  Joshua said this picture needed to be included in the blog because everyone needs to see his funny face:).

She could not stop pointing things out.

Love this little boy!!  He HATES getting his picture taken, but he tries to amuse his photo happy mama!

After seeing her brother's pic taken, she started crying until she got out of her stroller, posed and said, "Cheese!"  Not one to miss a photo op!

Daddy and his kids

Heehee...Sadie struggles to take pictures with Daddy so we felt we had the Holy Grail here with her smiling in Daddy's arms

Peek!

Breakfast of champions....Powdered donuts after an EARLY, EARLY morning animal hunt and then heading out for a hike.  Joshua had never had them before and I think he fell in love.  He is his father's son in this department.

Little Man even hiked up to the Falls with Mama here.  So proud of him!

Daddy made it too!

Sadie stayed behind to throw rocks.  And she was happy with that.

NEXT UP....VAIL!!
