Love Those Texans and Irishmen!

We have had a great week celebrating some of our favorite people! Grandpa Cal and Grandma Katy made it up from Dallas to meet their granddaughter this past weekend. We sure love seeing their smiles! Joshua enjoyed playing on his swing set with Grandma Katy and Grandpa Cal had quite the game of hide and go seek going with him:). They know the way to their grandson's heart too when they showed up with sprinkled cookies and banana bread...yum! Sadie loved snuggling with both and retold some great baby stories:). Tournament basketball was shared over the weekend and we HATED watching my beloved CATS go down. Cheers to Jake and Frank for another year of fun basketball though! Love watching you both and you will be missed Mr. Pullen! Frank, counting the days until next season! We hated to see Grandpa and Grandma go, as we always do, and can't wait to hang out again. We are so blessed to have such amazing grandparents on both sides of our family for these little ones.

Anyone that knows my side of the family, knows the Thorne side as a bunch of crazy Irish Catholics! So, of course we introduced Sadie to St. Paddy's Day! Festivities were at Papa and Mimi's. Joshua, Aunt Linda, and I passed on the potatoes and corned beef with cabbage for Mr. Goodcents, but we love to celebrate regardless! Although we were short on green clothes for Sadie Belle, she did sport some nice green and white striped tights thanks to the Peters family!

Funny Joshua story, so I was trying to explain St. Patrick's Day to him. I told him the story of St. Patrick, the clover, what Ireland is and if you have family from Ireland you are Irish. We then started making a list of those that we knew who had some Irish roots. He then asked what Masey was...Masey is our dog for those that may not know. I said that animals really don't talk about where their ancestors were from, but I guess Masey's family came from the Orient like maybe China. "So Masey's Chinese?" "I guess if you want to say that," was my response since this part of the conversation was apparently far gone. So much for a good educational session. He than said that he was Chinese.
-"No, you are not Chinese, you are Irish, English, German, Scottish......"
-"Yes, I am Chinese."
-"No, sweetie, you are not. We don't have any family that we know of from China."
-"Yes, I am Chinese because I like Chinese food and it goes in my tummy, and it has a party, so my Chinese food makes me Chinese!"
Check please!! This conversation was beyond recovery!!! :)
