Five Years of Blessings

November 12, 2005
5 Years Later....November 12, 2010 in Chicago

It's hard to imagine what five years can bring! Art and I celebrated our fifth anniversary this past weekend in Chicago. Five years older, five years wiser....maybe:), and happier than we ever could have imagined. It is amazing how God has worked in our lives. When I moved back to Kansas City seven years ago, we were introduced through one of my oldest and best friend, Rachael Schwerter. We have been friends since third grade and Rachael had just started dating her now husband Ryan, Art's friend. Follow me?? :) Neither of us were at places in our lives that serious relationships were a good choice:) , but a year later on Ryan and Rachael's wedding, we decided to give it a go!

Time has flown since then! We quickly realized we had found our best friend, the person that we did not want to spend a day without. Yes, it was a short dating and engagement to many (after five months of dating, we started to look at wedding dates when I flew out to visit Art who was working in Washington DC at the time...crazy even to me I think!), but not once have we looked back! We have been so blessed to love and laugh harder than most think is possible. In five years we bought our first home, have been able to share our passion for travel, and most importantly added an amazing little 2 1/2 year old bundle of energy to the team not mention another one on the way in February. Life is good. God is good. And we can't wait to see what happiness and challenges He may have in store for us in the next five years!

Love the Chicago architecture....This is the Chicago Tribune building

The Tribune building has a variety of stones from other structures around the world built into it. This is a stone from David's Tower in Jerusalem. Thought this was such a cool idea! We loved reading all of the different stones former sites, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the Pantheon and Parthenon, you name it, it was there!
On a night cruise around the city on Lake Michigan....it was really stinking cold, but so fun!!

Celebrating Mass at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago on Sunday. I'm such a sucker for these old buildings! It was a nice break to attend Church toddler free! :)

Aunt Linda and Joshua had an anniversary surprise for us when we got home, flowers, cake, and one of Joshua's favorite music cards! What a great welcome home gift!
