Joshua Gems

Life with a two year old is always exciting. Life with a two year old that is very chatty and has a vivid, imagination is hilarious. Here are some of our recent conversations in the Milnes' house.

Mom- Do you remember what your two teachers' names are?
J- Miss Alicia.....and....and....
Mom- I know, it's a tough one. Miss Alicia and.....
J- And...and...
Mom- I know you can do it! Miss Alicia and Miss....
J- Miss Green shirt!
(His teacher wore a green shirt that day. Perceptive son, but incorrect. The answer was Miss Kianna:) )

Joshua after seeing Art shaving:
J- I shave too! Need razor and shaving cream. (Of course his are not the real deal...Thomas the train training shaver kit. It's so cute!)
----Pause----J enters after not being able to find it.
J-Just use Daddy's.
Dad- You know, bud. You don't need to shave today. You are already good looking enough.
J-That would look nice though.

Mom- Did you know you get to start school tomorrow?
J- Yeah!!!
Mom- You can take your backpack!
J- Maybe ride a school bus! :( (Sorry buddy...not quite that kind of school!!)

J to Mom- Go work in the basement with Daddy too. Vacuum big, massive spiders. (Love that he said massive! Ha!)

J- Mommy have too many lip gloss by bed. Give one to Daddy.
Mom- Well Daddy doesn't wear lip gloss. He's a boy. Boys don't wear lip gloss.
J- Daddy need lip gloss.
Mom- No, put it back. Daddy does not need it.
J- Maybe Daddy's side.
Mom- Joshua, it goes on Mommy's side.
J- Actually, Mommy, Daddy's side.

After hearing his Dad's name mentioned at the dinner table at the Kilgore's:
J- Art is in St. Louie. (As in the song, Meet me in St. Louie)

And the budding actor insisted on reenacting the "So Long, Farewell" scene from the Sound of Music yesterday before nap. If you don't know the scene, you may have to YouTube it to see how theatrical our son is by acting out the end. I was singing it as we started up the stairs.
J- How bout Mommy sing and Joshua sit on stairs.
(As I sing the "the sun has gone to bed and so must I" line, he scoots up each stair backwards, then lays his head on stair number five)
J- Now Mommy be big sister and carry baby.
(We believe he may like this movie because the little girl looks just like his Aunt Linda as a little girl:). Who knows! He does love music!)
