One Decade Down...And What a Ten Years It Was!

The big to-do in the Milnes' home this past week was Mommy welcomed a new decade of life! Yep, I turned 30! My boys were so good to me, helping me celebrate in a variety of ways. I'm quite a lucky girl! December 1 was the big day and we gathered at my parent's house for some fun. Joshua is really into celebrating birthdays right now. We play with his peg set a lot at home using it as a birthday cake. We place "candle" pegs on a board, sing "Happy Birthday" (although his sounds more like "Ha Ba" than "Happy Birthday", it's so sweet!), and then practice blowing out the candles. So he was thrilled that this was the real deal and even indulged with poking some fingers in before we could catch him. I felt so truly blessed to reflect on the last ten years, friends I have meet, fun memories with family, accomplishments, but most of all, meeting my amazing husband who makes ever day the best day of my life:) and having a healthy little boy who is my sidekick and love! Life is good! The boys treated me to a day to myself on Saturday (Border's here I come!) and an evening of fun on the Plaza and seeing family and friends at one of my favorite bars, The Cashew, downtown. They are so good to me! Oh, and Joshua threw in a massage since he said he wears me out and I needed to rest up again:).

On Friday we ventured to Crown Center for a meeting with Santa! He loves Santa (a.k.a "denta" in his world) and loved playing with all of the bells Santa was wearing. We had dinner at Fritz's Train Restaurant...another Milnes' family fav. in which model trains bring you your meal! Such a cute concept and it truly makes the food taste better when there are trains flying over your head every few minutes! Joshua did a little dance when ours arrived. He LOVES trains right now! We also did the traditional walk through the Westin. Joshua was amazed at the inside waterfall. He found it to be the perfect place to style his hair, dipping a hand in, wetting down his hair, and then trying to brush it. Yuck! He also proved his ever growing stubbornness, or should I say toddler independence, by insisting to do the elevators by himself. Even through the view is much better of KC in Dad and Mom's arms, he would rather stand on the floor with no view and feel the tummy butterflies when the elevator starts and stops. Gotta love him! A great first week of December!
