Probiotic Microbes and Bubble Gum Medicine

When did the drug industry decide that as an adult I don't want my medicine to taste like bubble-gum? As long as it still works as fast, I'm in! That used to be THE benefit of getting sick when I was a kid: Bubble Gum Penicillin, Grape Tylenol and Strawberry Triaminic. Butters got to live through his first ear infection this week and bubble-gum medicine was the remedy! He also got to experience Probiotic Microbes to be included in his daily oatmeal ration. This was a new one for us, but I guess it has immunity promoting bacteria?? I think cheeseburgers and french fries do too . . . . . .that's what my Mom told me.

This was a big week for Josh in a few ways. Besides taking in the greatness of flavored antibiotics, he got to go vote for the first time. He wanted to vote for Mom, but we had to explain that she wasn't on the ballot. Nothing personal against President-elect Obama, he just thought Mom would do a better job.

Check out the Sticker! I Voted!

I also got to go to Gymboree on Saturday. I always get a little nervous when I go to Gymboree and there are other dads there. We men are very competitive by nature, so when I see another baby crawling (despite the fact that they are older than Josh), I make a mental note and will put that child's name on a list of people we must one day dominate as a tandem. I don't really do that, but all dads have given it thought.

As this blog is historical record, I do have to mention that Dad's alma mater knocked off #3 Penn State yesterday in a legendary game in Iowa City. I was briefly bugged that I wasn't there to see it in person, but then I would have missed parachutes at Gymboree!! That's an easy call.
